Reba McEntire Says She’d ‘Absolutely’ Collaborate With Departed ‘Voice’ Contestant Tom Nitti (Exclusive)

The first-time ‘Voice’ coach is hoping for a win — but knows all of her team members have a bright future in music!

Reba McEntire says she would “absolutely” be down for a future collaboration with departed The Voice team member Tom Nitti.

“Everything’s going great,” Reba told ET’s Deidre Behar of her former team member — who departed season 24 of the singing competition amid a contentious custody battle with his ex-wife. “Everybody is still still so much in love with Tom. He was so good. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him.”

In fact, Reba said, she’d “absolutely” love to collaborate with Tom in the future.

“Oh my gosh, I’ve got so many ideas,” she marveled. “He’s great. I love his singing. He’s not only country but he’s bluesy country.”

Following a heartfelt Instagram post after he left the show prior to the Knockout Rounds for “personal reasons,” Tom went more in-depth about what exactly went down in an interview with the Utica Observer-Dispatch. He revealed that, during his time on the show, his now ex-wife decided to try and pursue full custody of their two children.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to pursue music full-time, but I can’t do that without a cushion,” explained the law enforcement officer and Purple Heart recipient. “As a dad, I need to make sure my children will be supported.”

As for her remaining team members, Reba has two shots at becoming a Voice winner in her first season as a coach — with either country-rocker Jacquie Roar, or teenage yodeling phenom Ruby Leigh.

“I’m telling them to stay humble,” she said of her advice to her team members.  “Whether they win or lose — stay humble.”

“All of this time that they’ve put in, working so hard on their music, their talent, their choreography, the dressing, the makeup, the hair… Everything’s gonna change when you go home,” she added. “It’s kind of like after the CMA Awards and you gotta go home. Still [have to] wash dishes — stay humble.”

And though she’s in competition with her fellow coaches —  John LegendGwen Stefani and Niall Horan — Reba said they’ve been incredibly helpful during her debut season.

“We’re all still friends. And it’s very helpful,” she shared. “Especially John was really great… He helped me with the strategy.”
